Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (canola/vegetable)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp ginger (fresh, grated)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 medium bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 medium carrot (julienned)
  • 2 stalks green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (15 minutes): Press tofu for 5–10 minutes, then pat dry and cut into 1/2-inch cubes. Slice bell pepper, julienne carrot, and chop green onions; grate ginger and mince garlic.

  2. 2

Cook tofu (about 10 minutes): Heat neutral oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add tofu in a single layer and cook, turning occasionally, until golden on multiple sides, about 8–10 minutes.

  3. 3

Stir-fry vegetables (about 8 minutes): Add broccoli, carrot, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry until crisp-tender, about 6–8 minutes.

  4. 4

Make and toss with sauce (about 2 minutes): In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame seeds, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch with water. Pour sauce into the pan and toss until glossy and lightly thickened, about 1–2 minutes.

  5. 5

Finish (about 0–1 minutes): Turn off heat, sprinkle with green onions, and serve immediately.
