Ingredients

  • 1 lb Chicken Breast
  • 1 lb Flank Steak
  • 0.5 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 3 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 4 pieces Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Shawarma Spice Blend (Cumin, Coriander, Turmeric)
  • 0.25 cup Olive Oil
  • 0.5 cup Tahini Sauce(optional)
  • 4 loaves Pita Bread
  • 2 cups Cucumber and Tomato Salad
  • 0.5 cup Pickled Turnips(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Thinly slice the chicken breast and flank steak into 2-inch long strips.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and the shawarma spice blend.

  3. 3

Divide the marinade into two separate containers; add chicken to one and beef to the other, coating thoroughly.

  4. 4

Marinate the meats in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.

  5. 5

Heat a large cast-iron grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat.

  6. 6

Sear the beef strips first for 3-4 minutes until charred and cooked through, then remove and repeat with the chicken.

  7. 7

Warm the pita bread on the grill for 30 seconds per side until soft and pliable.

  8. 8

Arrange the grilled meats on a large platter surrounded by the salad, pickles, and a generous drizzle of tahini sauce.
