Ingredients

  • 2 fillets salmon fillets
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium if desired)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil(optional)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar or lime juice(optional)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper(optional)
  • 1 tsp neutral oil (for pan-searing)(optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for serving)(optional)
  • 1 tbsp green onions (for serving)(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (10 minutes): Pat salmon dry and season lightly with black pepper. In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and (if using) sesame oil and rice vinegar.

  2. 2

Cook (15 minutes): Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of neutral oil if needed. Sear salmon 4–5 minutes per side until just cooked through (or broil 6–8 minutes, depending on thickness).

  3. 3

Glaze: Reduce heat to medium. Pour in the honey-soy-ginger mixture and simmer 1–2 minutes, spooning glaze over the salmon until glossy and slightly thickened.

  4. 4

Serve: Plate salmon and spoon any remaining glaze on top. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if using.
