Ingredients

  • 250 g Mushrooms (cremini or button), sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Mareco seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 120 ml Heavy cream
  • 30 ml Milk (or more cream)(optional)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Salt(optional)
  • 4 slices Toast bread (brioche or sourdough)

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (10 minutes): Slice the mushrooms and mince the garlic. Measure the cream, Dijon, and Mareco seasoning.

  2. 2

Cook mushrooms (15 minutes): Heat the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and cook until they release moisture and start to brown, about 8–10 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook 1 minute. Add Mareco seasoning, black pepper, and salt (if using), then cook 2–3 minutes to bloom the flavors.

  3. 3

Make it creamy (within the 15 minutes): Reduce heat to medium. Stir in heavy cream (and milk if needed) and Dijon mustard. Simmer, stirring, until thickened and glossy, about 3–4 minutes.

  4. 4

Serve: Spoon the creamy mushroom mixture onto the toast and serve immediately.
