Ingredients

  • 12 oz Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 oz Pasta (linguine or spaghetti)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 large Lemon (zest and juice)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Fresh basil, chopped(optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes(optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente, then reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain.

  2. 2

While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Pat shrimp dry, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté until pink and just cooked through, 2–3 minutes per side. Transfer shrimp to a plate.

  3. 3

Reduce heat to medium. In the same skillet, add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until fragrant, about 30–60 seconds. Add lemon zest and lemon juice, then stir in 1/2 cup reserved pasta water to loosen the pan.

  4. 4

Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. Add more reserved pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce. Stir in parsley (and basil if using). Return shrimp to the skillet and toss 30–60 seconds until warmed through. Serve immediately.
