Ingredients

  • 200 g Noodles (spaghetti, linguine, or ramen noodles)
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 2 stalks Scallions
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 2 tbsp of cooking water, then drain.

  2. 2

While the noodles cook, mince the garlic and slice the scallions (separate whites and greens).

  3. 3

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the garlic and scallion whites and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. 4

Stir in the soy sauce and water (and a splash of reserved noodle water if needed). Simmer for 1–2 minutes to form a glossy sauce.

  5. 5

Add the drained noodles to the skillet and toss until evenly coated. Cook 1–2 minutes to heat through and lightly thicken the sauce.

  6. 6

Turn off the heat, toss in scallion greens, and season with black pepper if using. Serve immediately.
