Ingredients

  • 1 lb Flank steak
  • 3 cups Broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch to create the sauce.

  3. 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and sear until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from pan and set aside.

  4. 4

Add the remaining tablespoon of oil and the broccoli to the pan. Stir-fry for 3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.

  5. 5

Return the beef to the pan and pour the sauce over the mixture.

  6. 6

Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.

  7. 7

Serve immediately over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
