- 12 oz lean ground chicken
- 1 cup fresh Thai basil (or regular basil)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp lime zest(optional)
- 1 tsp fish sauce(optional)
- 1 tsp brown sugar (or honey)(optional)
- 1 tbsp neutral oil (for cooking)
- 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes(optional)
- 4 cups romaine lettuce hearts (or butter lettuce)
Instructions

Prep (about 10 minutes): Mince the garlic. Chop the basil leaves (stems can be used if tender). Juice and zest the lime. If using, measure soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar/honey.

- 4
Add soy sauce, lime juice, and fish sauce (if using). Simmer and stir 1–2 minutes to lightly reduce. Turn off heat and stir in basil until just wilted.
- 5
Serve: Spoon the chicken mixture into lettuce cups and finish with lime zest if desired.
