Ingredients

  • 12 oz Flank steak (or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 4 cups Broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp Neutral oil (canola/vegetable)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce (low-sodium if desired)
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil(optional)
  • 0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (10 minutes): Slice beef thinly; cut broccoli into bite-size florets. Mince garlic and grate ginger. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and water until smooth.

  2. 2

Cook (15 minutes): Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add neutral oil, then stir-fry beef for 2–3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked; transfer to a plate.

  3. 3

In the same pan, stir-fry broccoli with a splash of water (about 1–2 tbsp) for 4–6 minutes, until bright green and crisp-tender.

  4. 4

Add garlic and ginger; stir-fry 30–60 seconds until fragrant. Return beef to the pan, pour in the soy-ginger sauce, and toss until glossy and thickened, 2–3 minutes.

  5. 5

Finish: Turn off heat and stir in sesame oil (if using). Serve immediately.
