Classic Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

- 1 pound Flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 4 cups Broccoli florets
- 1/3 cup Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger, minced
- 3 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup Beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Toasted sesame seeds(optional)

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, cornstarch, and beef broth to create the sauce.

Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the broccoli florets and two tablespoons of water; cover and steam for 3 minutes until tender-crisp, then remove and set aside.

Wipe the skillet dry and add the remaining tablespoon of oil, increasing the heat to high.

Add the beef strips in a single layer and sear until browned, approximately 2 minutes per side.

Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.

Return the broccoli to the skillet and toss everything together to coat thoroughly in the glaze.
