Ingredients

  • 200 g linguine
  • 250 g shrimp (peeled, deveined)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest(optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 0.5 tsp salt(optional)
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine until al dente (about 10–11 minutes). Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.

  2. 2

While the pasta cooks, pat the shrimp dry and mince the garlic. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sauté garlic with red pepper flakes for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. 3

Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until pink and just cooked through, about 2–3 minutes per side (total ~6–7 minutes).

  4. 4

Stir in lemon juice (and lemon zest if using) and deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits. Add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.

  5. 5

Toss drained linguine with the shrimp-lemon garlic sauce until evenly coated. Add parsley and toss again for 30–60 seconds, then serve immediately.
