Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup roasted red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 pieces pita bread
  • 1 pinch paprika(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice each pita into 8 triangles and place on a baking sheet; drizzle with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.

  2. 2

Bake the pita triangles for 8‑10 minutes, turning once, until crisp and lightly golden; remove and let cool.

  3. 3

While the pita chips bake, combine chickpeas, roasted red pepper, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, remaining 1/2 tablespoon olive oil, cumin, and salt in a food processor; blend until smooth, adding a splash of water if needed for desired consistency.

  4. 4

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with a little extra olive oil and sprinkle with paprika if desired; serve with the warm pita chips.
