Ingredients

  • 200 g Paneer (crumbled)
  • 1 small Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium Tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1 Green chili (finely chopped)(optional)
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste(optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro (chopped)(optional)
  • 2 Roti/whole wheat tortillas

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (10 minutes): Finely chop the onion and tomato. Crumble the paneer. If using, chop green chili and prepare ginger-garlic paste; chop cilantro.

  2. 2

Cook (15 minutes): Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for 10–15 seconds.

  3. 3

Add onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in ginger-garlic paste (if using) and green chili, then cook for 30 seconds.

  4. 4

Add tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 5–6 minutes until tomatoes break down and the mixture becomes saucy.

  5. 5

Add crumbled paneer and garam masala. Cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring gently, until paneer is heated through and lightly coated. Turn off heat and mix in cilantro (if using).

  6. 6

Assemble: Warm the rotis briefly, spoon the paneer bhurji onto each, roll into wraps, and serve immediately.
