Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Sourdough or Italian loaf
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes(optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

  2. 2

Using a serrated knife, cut the bread diagonally in 1-inch intervals, being careful not to cut all the way through the bottom crust.

  3. 3

Rotate the bread and cut diagonally in the opposite direction to create a diamond cross-hatch pattern.

  4. 4

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, parsley, and salt until smooth.

  5. 5

Gently pry open the cracks of the bread and spread the garlic butter mixture generously inside all the crevices.

  6. 6

Stuff the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese into the cracks until the loaf is well-packed.

  7. 7

Wrap the entire loaf loosely in foil and bake for 15 minutes.

  8. 8

Uncover the bread and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
