Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2.5 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream(optional)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Mince the garlic and grate the parmesan cheese.

  2. 2

Melt the butter in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

Add the spaghetti, broth, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.

  4. 4

Stir in the parmesan and heavy cream (if using) until creamy. Remove from heat.

  5. 5

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
