Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Polenta (coarse cornmeal)
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup Marinara sauce (store‑bought or homemade)
- 4 leaves Fresh basil leaves(optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/8 teaspoon Black pepper
Instructions
- 1
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil, add the salt, then whisk in the polenta gradually; reduce heat to low and cook, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes until thickened.
- 2
Stir in the olive oil and grated Parmesan, then spread the polenta mixture into a greased 8‑inch square baking dish; smooth the top with a spatula.
- 3
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake the polenta for 10‑12 minutes, until the edges are firm and lightly golden.
- 4
Remove the dish, let the polenta cool 2‑3 minutes, then cut into 4 equal squares.
- 5
While the polenta bakes, heat the marinara sauce in a small saucepan until simmering.
- 6
Plate each polenta square, spoon warm marinara over the top, and garnish with optional basil leaves.
