Ingredients

  • 180 g Pasta (spaghetti or linguine)
  • 1 can (140) Canned tuna (in water or oil, drained)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 clove Garlic(optional)
  • to taste Salt(optional)
  • 1/2 cup Reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente, about 10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.

  2. 2

While the pasta cooks, warm the olive oil in a large skillet over low heat. If using garlic, sauté it for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. 3

Add the drained tuna to the skillet and stir to warm through, about 1 minute. Add lemon zest, lemon juice, and black pepper; mix well.

  4. 4

Add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss and gradually add reserved pasta water until the sauce turns creamy and coats the pasta.

  5. 5

Taste and adjust with salt and extra pepper if needed. Serve immediately.
