Ingredients

  • 200 g spaghetti
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes(optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley(optional)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook spaghetti until al dente, about 10-11 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.

  2. 2

While the pasta cooks, melt butter with olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; cook 2-3 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 3

Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. Add splashes of reserved pasta water as needed to create a glossy sauce.

  4. 4

Remove from heat, stir in parmesan, and season with salt and black pepper. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
