Ingredients

  • 180 g Spaghetti
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp Salt(optional)
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper(optional)
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese (optional)(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti until al dente, about 10–12 minutes; reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.

  2. 2

While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30–60 seconds (do not brown).

  3. 3

Add drained pasta to the skillet. Toss with lemon zest and lemon juice, loosening with a splash of reserved pasta water as needed. Season with black pepper (and salt if needed).

  4. 4

Turn off heat and toss in parsley. Serve immediately, optionally topping with Parmesan.
