Ingredients
- 1.2 kg Pork ribs (baby back)
- 60 ml Soy sauce
- 30 ml Hoisin sauce
- 40 ml Honey
- 1 tsp Chinese five‑spice powder
- 30 ml Shaoxing wine (or dry sherry)
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- ½ tsp Black pepper(optional)
Instructions
- 1
1. In a large bowl combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, Shaoxing wine, five‑spice powder, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper; whisk until smooth.
- 2
2. Pat the pork ribs dry, then cut them into individual rib sections. Add the ribs to the marinade, toss to coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).
- 3
3. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a rack on top; arrange the marinated ribs on the rack, reserving excess sauce.
- 4
4. Roast the ribs for 40 minutes, then brush with the reserved sauce and flip the ribs. Continue roasting for another 30 minutes, brushing once more halfway through, until the meat is tender and the glaze is caramelized.
- 5
5. Remove the ribs from the oven, let rest 5 minutes, then slice between the bones and serve with any remaining glaze drizzled on top.
