- 0.25 cup Honey
- 0.33 cup Hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing rice wine
- 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
- 2 cloves Minced garlic
- 1 cube Red fermented bean curd (optional for color)(optional)
- 1 teaspoon Toasted sesame oil

Whisk together the honey, hoisin, soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar, five-spice, garlic, and sesame oil in a large bowl.

Reserve 3 tablespoons of the marinade to use later as a basting glaze.

Place the pork strips in a sealable bag with the remaining marinade and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
