Ingredients
- 2 cups Boiled Chickpeas (Kabuli Chana)
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 1 large Tomato, finely chopped
- 2 pieces Green Chili, minced
- 1.5 teaspoons Chaat Masala
- 1 teaspoon Roasted Cumin Powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 0.25 cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped
- 0.5 teaspoon Black Salt (Kala Namak)
- 2 tablespoons Fine Sev (Gram flour noodles)(optional)
Instructions
- 1
If using canned chickpeas, rinse them thoroughly; if using dried, soak overnight and pressure cook until tender but firm.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, add the boiled chickpeas and ensure they are at room temperature.
- 3
Add the finely chopped onions, tomatoes, and green chilies to the bowl.
- 4
Sprinkle the chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, and black salt over the mixture.
- 5
Pour the fresh lemon juice over the ingredients to help the spices coat the chickpeas evenly.
- 6
Toss everything together vigorously until the chickpeas are well-coated with the spice blend.
- 7
Garnish with a generous amount of fresh cilantro and a sprinkle of sev for extra crunch.
- 8
Serve immediately while the vegetables are crisp for the best texture.
