Ingredients

  • 1 piece store‑bought pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 6 leaves fresh basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon extra‑virgin olive oil(optional)
  • 1 pinch salt(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

  2. 2

On a lightly floured surface, stretch the pizza dough to a 10‑inch round and transfer to a piece of parchment paper.

  3. 3

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.

  4. 4

Tear the mozzarella into pieces and distribute it over the sauce.

  5. 5

Drizzle the olive oil over the cheese and sprinkle the pinch of salt, if using.

  6. 6

Slide the pizza (with parchment) onto the hot stone or sheet and bake for 10‑12 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  7. 7

Remove from the oven, scatter fresh basil leaves on top, let rest 2 minutes, then slice and serve.
