Ingredients
- 12 oz Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 oz Orzo pasta
- 2 tbsp White miso paste
- 3 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 Green onions, sliced(optional)
- 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes(optional)
- to taste Salt and black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the orzo until al dente, about 8-9 minutes. Drain, reserving 1/4 cup pasta water.
- 2
While the orzo cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add half the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 3
Season shrimp with salt and pepper, add to the skillet, and cook 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- 4
In the same skillet, melt the butter over low heat and whisk in the miso paste, remaining garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes until smooth.
- 5
Return the shrimp to the pan and toss to coat in the miso butter, adding a splash of pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.
- 6
Toss the drained orzo with a drizzle of olive oil, then plate and top with the miso butter shrimp. Garnish with green onions and serve immediately.
