Ingredients

  • 12 oz boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (10 minutes): Cut chicken into 2–3 cutlets. Mince garlic and grate ginger. Cut broccoli into bite-size florets.

  2. 2

Steam broccoli (about 5 minutes of cook time): Add broccoli to a microwave-safe bowl with 2 tbsp water, cover, and microwave until crisp-tender. (Alternatively, steam over a pot with a steamer basket.)

  3. 3

Pan-sear chicken (about 8 minutes of cook time): Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with black pepper and cook until browned and cooked through, about 4 minutes per side depending on thickness. Transfer chicken to a plate.

  4. 4

Make glaze and finish (about 2 minutes of cook time): In the same skillet, add soy sauce, water, honey, ginger, and garlic. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 1–2 minutes. Return chicken to the skillet and coat with the glaze.

  5. 5

Serve: Plate broccoli, top with teriyaki chicken, drizzle sesame oil over the chicken/broccoli, and finish with toasted sesame seeds.
