Ingredients

  • 16 oz Extra firm tofu
  • 0.25 cup Cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced(optional)
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into 1-inch cubes.

  2. 2

Toss the tofu cubes in a bowl with cornstarch until every side is evenly coated.

  3. 3

Heat vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

Fry the tofu in a single layer until golden and crispy on all sides, about 10 minutes.

  5. 5

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil.

  6. 6

Remove the tofu from the pan and drain excess oil, leaving about a teaspoon.

  7. 7

Pour the sauce into the pan and simmer for 1-2 minutes until it begins to thicken into a glaze.

  8. 8

Add the tofu back into the pan, tossing quickly to coat, then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
