  • 1.5 cups Glutinous (sticky) rice
  • 1.5 cups Full-fat coconut milk
  • 0.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 large Ripe mangoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted sesame seeds(optional)
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1 piece Pandan leaf (optional)(optional)

Instructions

    Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it for at least 4 hours or overnight.

    Drain the rice and steam it over boiling water for 20-25 minutes until tender and translucent.

    In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of coconut milk, sugar, and salt over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.

    Transfer the hot steamed rice to a bowl and pour the coconut milk mixture over it; stir well and let it sit covered for 20 minutes.

    Prepare the topping sauce by heating the remaining 0.5 cup of coconut milk with a pinch of salt and the cornstarch slurry until thickened.

    Peel and slice the fresh mangoes into uniform pieces.
