Ingredients

  • 4 large Boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 0.25 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 pieces Finely chopped green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons Chaat masala
  • 1 cup Whisked yogurt
  • 0.5 cup Tamarind chutney
  • 0.5 cup Mint-coriander green chutney
  • 0.5 cup Nylon sev
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 0.25 cup Fresh coriander leaves
  • 4 tablespoons Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, cornstarch, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, and half of the chaat masala.

  2. 2

Mix the ingredients thoroughly until a non-sticky dough forms, then divide into 8 equal portions and shape them into flat round patties.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat and shallow fry the patties until both sides are golden brown and very crispy.

  4. 4

Place two hot tikkis on a serving plate and gently press the centers with a spoon to create a slight indentation.

  5. 5

Pour a generous amount of whisked yogurt over the tikkis, followed by a drizzle of tamarind chutney and green chutney.

  6. 6

Sprinkle a pinch of roasted cumin powder and the remaining chaat masala over the top.

  7. 7

Garnish the dish with a handful of nylon sev and freshly chopped coriander leaves.

  8. 8

Serve immediately while the tikkis are hot and the yogurt is cold for the best contrast in temperature and texture.
