Ingredients
- 2 pieces salmon fillets
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- to taste black pepper(optional)
Instructions
- 1
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the teriyaki glaze.
- 2
Pat the salmon fillets dry, season with black pepper, and heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear salmon skin‑side down for 3‑4 minutes until crisp, then flip and cook another 2‑3 minutes.
- 3
Brush the salmon with half of the teriyaki glaze, continue cooking for 1 minute, then remove salmon and set aside; add the remaining glaze to the pan and simmer for 1‑2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 4
While the salmon cooks, toss broccoli florets with sesame oil and a pinch of salt; steam or sauté in a separate pan for 4‑5 minutes until bright‑green and tender‑crisp.
- 5
Stir the sesame seeds into the broccoli, then plate the salmon, drizzle the reduced glaze over it, and serve the sesame‑tossed broccoli on the side.
