Ingredients

  • 8 oz Smoked brisket, shredded
  • 6 oz Ziti pasta
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil(optional)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh basil, chopped(optional)
  • to taste Salt(optional)
  • to taste Black pepper(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). While it heats, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add the ziti, and cook al dente according to package instructions (about 9 minutes); drain and set aside.

  2. 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat (if using) and add the shredded smoked brisket to warm through, about 3 minutes; stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 2 minutes.

  3. 3

In a mixing bowl combine the ricotta, half of the shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, and chopped basil; season with salt and pepper. Toss the cooked ziti with the brisket‑marinara mixture, then fold in the ricotta mixture until evenly coated.

  4. 4

Transfer the combined pasta to a 9‑inch baking dish, sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top, and bake for 20‑25 minutes until the cheese is melted and the edges are bubbling.

  5. 5

Remove from the oven, let rest 5 minutes, then serve hot. Optional: garnish with extra basil leaves.
