- 4 slices Sourdough bread
- 6 slices Ham
- 6 oz Gruyère cheese
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp All-purpose flour(optional)
- 1/2 cup Whole milk
- 1 pinch Nutmeg(optional)
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and honey to make the sesame-soy glaze.

Spread Dijon mustard on 2 slices of bread, layer with ham and half the gruyère, then top with the remaining bread slices.

Melt butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and toast 3-4 minutes per side until golden.

Brush the tops with the sesame-soy glaze, sprinkle with sesame seeds and remaining gruyère, then transfer the skillet to the oven and bake 6-8 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- 5
Meanwhile, warm the milk with flour and nutmeg, whisking until slightly thickened to make a quick sauce. Drizzle over the baked sandwiches and serve hot.
