Ingredients

  • 6 large scallions (green onions)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil (for pan-frying)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or black vinegar)(optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (15 minutes): Finely slice the scallions. In a bowl, mix flour with warm water and a pinch of salt until a soft dough forms; knead 1 minute, then cover and rest 5 minutes.

  2. 2

Shape and fill: Divide dough into 2 portions. Roll each into a thin rectangle, brush lightly with oil, sprinkle with scallions, then roll up tightly and coil. Flatten each coil into a thick pancake.

  3. 3

Cook (20 minutes): Heat 1 tbsp oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook pancakes 8–10 minutes per side (until deeply golden and crisp), adding a little more oil if needed. Remove and keep warm.

  4. 4

Make sauce: Mince garlic and stir into soy sauce. Add vinegar and sesame oil if using.

  5. 5

Serve: Slice pancakes and serve with soy-garlic dipping sauce.
