Salted Caramel Brownies

Fudgy, chocolatey brownies swirled with homemade salted caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 200 g Unsalted butter
  • 200 g Dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 250 g Granulated sugar
  • 3 pieces Large eggs
  • 100 g All-purpose flour
  • 30 g Cocoa powder
  • 150 ml Salted caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp Flaky sea salt(optional)

    Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

    Melt the butter and dark chocolate together in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth.

    Remove from heat and whisk in the sugar until well combined.

    Add the eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition until the batter is glossy.

    Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, then gently fold with a spatula until just combined.

    Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

    Drizzle half of the salted caramel sauce over the batter.

    Top with the remaining brownie batter, then drizzle the remaining caramel on top and swirl with a knife.

    Bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are set but the center still has a slight wobble.

    Sprinkle with flaky sea salt while warm and let cool completely before slicing.
