- 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Rolled oats
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract(optional)

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish.

In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until evenly coated.

Transfer the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading them out into an even layer.

In a separate medium bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt.

Add the cubed chilled butter to the flour mixture and use your fingertips or a pastry cutter to rub it in until it looks like coarse breadcrumbs.
