  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 pieces Green chilies (slit)
  • 1 large Tomato (finely chopped)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat and add the cumin seeds until they splutter.

  2. 2

Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent and light golden brown.

  3. 3

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sautéing for one minute until the raw smell disappears.

  4. 4

Add the chopped tomatoes and salt, cooking until the tomatoes become soft and mushy.

  5. 5

Lower the heat and add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala, mixing well for 30 seconds.

Add the crumbled paneer to the pan and toss gently to coat the paneer with the spice mixture.

Cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat, ensuring the paneer doesn't become tough or rubbery.

  8. 8

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with paratha or toasted bread.
