Ingredients

Servings:4
  • 1 1/2 lbs Sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup Kuli-kuli or roasted peanut powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger powder
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Bouillon powder (beef flavor)
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Red onion, sliced for garnish(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and a wire rack.

  2. 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the peanut powder, ginger, garlic, onion powder, cayenne, paprika, bouillon, and salt to create the Yaji spice mix.

  3. 3

Pat the beef strips dry with paper towels and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  4. 4

Toss the beef strips with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil until evenly coated.

  5. 5

Dredge each beef strip through the Yaji spice mixture, pressing firmly so the coating adheres to all sides.

  6. 6

Arrange the coated beef strips in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they do not overlap.

  7. 7

Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of oil over the strips and roast in the oven for 12-15 minutes.

  8. 8

Switch the oven to broil for the last 2 minutes to achieve a slightly charred, smoky finish.

  9. 9

Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving with sliced onions and fresh tomatoes.
