Ingredients

  • 250 g ground pork
  • 1 orange
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp orange juice (from the orange)(optional)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch(optional)
  • 1 tbsp water(optional)
  • 8 iceberg or romaine lettuce leaves
  • 2 tbsp green onions (sliced)(optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds(optional)
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (15 minutes total): Zest and juice the orange; mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Slice green onions if using.

  2. 2

Cook (15 minutes total): Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground pork and cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through, about 8–10 minutes.

  3. 3

Make the sauce: Stir in garlic and ginger for 30–60 seconds. Add soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and the orange juice (plus orange zest). Simmer 2–3 minutes to meld flavors.

  4. 4

Thicken (optional): If you want a saucier glaze, stir cornstarch with water and add to the skillet; cook 30–60 seconds until glossy.

  5. 5

Assemble: Spoon hot pork mixture into lettuce cups. Top with green onions and sesame seeds if using, then serve immediately.
