Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 12 oz Orecchiette pasta
  • 5 oz Fresh baby spinach
  • 3.5 cups Chicken broth
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes(optional)
  • to taste Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausage (casings removed) and cook until browned, breaking it into small crumbles with a spoon.

  2. 2

Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Stir in the orecchiette pasta.

  4. 4

Reduce heat to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, for about 12-15 minutes or until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid is absorbed.

  5. 5

Stir in the fresh spinach and cook for 1-2 minutes until wilted.

  6. 6

Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
