Ingredients

  • 1 lb Linguine pasta
  • 1 lb Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes(optional)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Lemon zest
  • 0.25 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • to taste Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook linguine according to package directions until al dente.

  2. 2

While pasta cooks, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  5. 5

Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

  6. 6

Drain pasta, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta water.

  7. 7

Add the cooked linguine, shrimp, and parsley to the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water if the sauce needs thinning.

  8. 8

Serve immediately with an extra garnish of parsley or lemon wedges.
