Lemon Asparagus Farfalle

Ingredients
- 12 oz Farfalle pasta
- 1 bunch Asparagus
- 3 tbsp Olive oil
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Lemon zest
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese
- 0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes(optional)
- to taste Salt and black pepper

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the farfalle according to package directions until al dente.

While the pasta cooks, trim the woody ends off the asparagus and cut the stalks into 2-inch pieces.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.

Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.

Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the asparagus. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and half of the parmesan cheese.

Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.

Season with salt and pepper. Serve topped with the remaining parmesan cheese.
