Ingredients

  • 12 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp gochujang
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp honey (or brown sugar)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or lime juice)
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (canola/vegetable)
  • 6 oz noodles (ramen, udon, or wheat noodles)
  • 2 green onions, sliced(optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package directions until just tender. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

In a bowl, stir together gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of water to make a smooth sauce.

  3. 3

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add neutral oil, then add shrimp in a single layer and cook until pink and just cooked through, 2–3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp to a plate.

  4. 4

In the same pan, add garlic and cook for 30–45 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the sauce and simmer briefly, 30–60 seconds, until glossy.

  5. 5

Add noodles and shrimp back to the pan. Toss well to coat and loosen with a splash of water if needed. Cook 1–2 minutes to heat through.

  6. 6

Turn off the heat and stir in sesame oil. Serve topped with green onions and sesame seeds.
