Ingredients

  • 12 oz large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest(optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt(optional)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper(optional)
  • 1 tsp olive oil(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep (about 10 minutes): Pat shrimp dry, mince garlic, zest and juice the lemon, and chop parsley.

  2. 2

Cook (about 10 minutes): Heat olive oil (if using) in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Transfer shrimp to a plate.

  3. 3

In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic; cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant (do not brown the garlic).

  4. 4

Stir in lemon juice (and zest if using). Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat; cook 30–60 seconds to warm through.

  5. 5

Turn off heat, season with salt and black pepper to taste, and sprinkle with parsley. Serve immediately.
