Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ziti pasta
  • 24 ounces Marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces Whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large Large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 pinch Salt and black pepper(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the ziti until slightly underdone (about 2 minutes less than the package directions for al dente).

  3. 3

In a medium bowl, whisk the egg and then stir in the ricotta cheese, half of the Parmesan, the dried oregano, garlic powder, and parsley.

  4. 4

Drain the pasta and return it to the pot; toss with about 1 cup of the marinara sauce to prevent sticking.

  5. 5

Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

  6. 6

Layer half of the pasta into the dish, followed by dollops of the ricotta mixture and half of the mozzarella cheese.

  7. 7

Add the remaining pasta, the rest of the marinara sauce, and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  8. 8

Bake for 30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned on top.
