Ingredients

  • 600 g Flank steak
  • 6 tbsp Chipotle adobo sauce
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 12 large leaves Romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium Avocado
  • 3 tbsp Fresh cilantro
  • 1 whole Lime
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Trim any excess fat from the flank steak, then slice it thinly against the grain (about 1/4‑inch thick).

  2. 2

In a bowl, whisk together the chipotle adobo sauce, olive oil, salt, and black pepper; toss the steak slices in the mixture and let marinate for 10 minutes while you prep the vegetables.

  3. 3

Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over high heat; cook the steak strips for 2‑3 minutes per side until charred and medium‑rare, then remove and let rest 2 minutes.

  4. 4

While the steak rests, slice the avocado into thin wedges, chop the cilantro, and cut the lime into wedges.

  5. 5

Assemble each lettuce cup by placing a few steak strips, an avocado wedge, a sprinkle of cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice on top.

  6. 6

Serve immediately, allowing diners to eat the lettuce wraps like tacos.
