Ingredients

Servings:4
  • 8 slices Brioche loaf, sliced 1-inch thick
  • 4 pieces Large eggs
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Maple syrup(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

In a wide, shallow bowl or baking dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

Preheat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.

  3. 3

Place 2 to 3 slices of brioche into the custard mixture and let soak for about 30-45 seconds per side, ensuring they are saturated but not falling apart.

  4. 4

Melt a small knob of butter on the skillet, swirling to coat the surface.

  5. 5

Place the soaked bread onto the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side until deep golden brown.

  6. 6

Flip the slices carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the second side.

  7. 7

Repeat the process with the remaining slices, adding more butter to the pan as needed.

  8. 8

Serve immediately with warm maple syrup and fresh berries if desired.
