Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 12 pieces hard corn taco shells
- 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream(optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper
Instructions
- 1
Place the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook until fully browned, breaking it into small crumbles with a spatula.
- 2
Drain the excess grease from the skillet carefully to ensure the meat isn't too oily.
- 3
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until the meat is evenly coated.
- 4
Pour in the water and reduce the heat to low, simmering for 5 to 7 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated and a thick sauce forms.
- 5
Preheat your oven to 350°F and place the taco shells on a baking sheet for 5 minutes until they are warm and fragrant.
- 6
Prepare the toppings by shredding the lettuce, dicing the tomatoes, and grating the cheese while the meat simmers.
- 7
Spoon approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons of the seasoned beef into each warm taco shell.
- 8
Top each taco with lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes, adding a dollop of sour cream if desired.
