Ingredients
- 1 cup cup fresh sweet cherries, pitted
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp tsp salt
- 1 tbsp tbsp powdered sugar for dusting(optional)
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a 9-inch baking dish or cast-iron skillet.
- 2
Whisk the eggs and sugar in a bowl until pale and slightly frothy, about 1 minute.
- 3
Whisk in the milk, melted butter, vanilla, flour, and salt until you have a smooth, thin batter.
- 4
Arrange the pitted cherries evenly in the prepared dish, then pour the batter over them.
- 5
Bake for 30-35 minutes until the clafoutis is puffed, golden, and set in the center (a knife inserted should come out clean).
- 6
Cool for 5 minutes — it will deflate slightly, which is normal — dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.
