Ingredients

  • 400 g Udon noodles
  • 250 g Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 300 g Green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium Carrot, julienned
  • 3 stalks Green onions, sliced
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Mirin
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Toasted sesame oil(optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the udon noodles for 3-4 minutes until just loosened. Drain and rinse under cold water, then set aside.

  2. 2

Whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and mirin in a small bowl to make the sauce.

  3. 3

Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Sear the sliced beef for 2-3 minutes until browned, then remove and set aside.

  4. 4

Add the remaining oil to the pan, then stir-fry the garlic, carrot, and cabbage for 3-4 minutes until the cabbage softens slightly but still has some crunch.

  5. 5

Return the beef to the pan, add the udon noodles and sauce, and toss everything together for 2-3 minutes until well coated and heated through.

  6. 6

Drizzle with sesame oil, sprinkle with green onions and black pepper, and serve immediately.
