Ingredients

  • 400 g Korean rice cakes (tteok)
  • 150 g Fish cakes (eomuk)
  • 3 tbsp Gochujang
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 3 cups Chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 Green onions
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil(optional)
  • 2 Hard-boiled eggs(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Slice the fish cakes into strips, mince the garlic, and cut the green onions into 2-inch pieces (10 minutes prep).

  2. 2

In a wide pan, combine the broth, gochujang, sugar, soy sauce, and garlic. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  3. 3

Add the rice cakes and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally so they don't stick.

  4. 4

Add the fish cakes and simmer another 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the rice cakes.

  5. 5

Stir in sesame oil, top with green onions and halved boiled eggs, and serve hot.
