Ingredients

  • 1 lb Flank Steak
  • 12 small Corn Tortillas
  • 0.5 cup White Onion
  • 0.25 cup Fresh Cilantro
  • 2 whole Lime
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Salsa Verde(optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Finely dice the white onion and chop the fresh cilantro. Mix them together in a small bowl and set aside.

  2. 2

Slice the flank steak into very small, bite-sized cubes. Season thoroughly with salt, cumin, and chili powder.

  3. 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over high heat until shimmering.

  4. 4

Add the beef to the skillet in a single layer. Sear without moving for 2 minutes to get a crust, then stir and cook for another 3-4 minutes until fully browned.

  5. 5

While the beef cooks, warm the corn tortillas on a dry griddle or directly over a gas flame until soft and slightly charred.

  6. 6

Assemble the tacos by placing a generous spoonful of beef onto two stacked tortillas (traditional street style).

  7. 7

Top with the onion-cilantro mix and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Serve with salsa verde if desired.
